The Green Scholarship Program recently held its annual Orientation celebration to present 22 new students with scholarships. The Green Scholarship Program (GSP) is a not-for-profit organization serving as an advocate for young people with the greatest need. The Program assists youth granting four-year scholarships for higher education.
The Green Scholarship Program provides much more than financial support; it also provides leadership skills to form active community members. The Green Scholarship Program believes in providing opportunities through education to empower disadvantaged young adults to improve economic circumstances and quality of life.
This is the 12th consecutive year that students have received university scholarships from the Green Scholarship Foundation; approximately 126 students have graduated since the inception of the program. Since last January, the scholarships have been promoted through the local media as well as the major public high schools in the region. The students are selected through certain evaluative criteria including grade average, character, leadership, and economic necessity. The new students were chosen from the Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo area. |

Onagh Ash- Young People for change.
We were honored by the presence of Onagh Ash, President of Gente Joven por un Cambio, and John Pentz of Pentz & Partners; both very aware of the importance of education in the community. They encouraged the students to take advantage of their opportunities and to “DREAM BIG”. Each emphasized the importance of student success, not only for themselves but for the Los Cabos area.
The GSP also recognized the local partner Universities that do a tremendous job of educating the students of Los Cabos.
